The SS19 COLLECTION draws inspiration from Abstract Art, its magnetic combinations of shape and color, the influence of one on the other and their contrasts and dissonances.
Bold and dynamic, the geometric figures in this collection take cue from ancestral “Kuna” indigenous textile designs which were entirely geometric. It is only at a more contemporary date that detailed figurative elements are introduced into their artwork. The translation of the patterns defined by perfect repetition through computer programs into fully hand sewn textiles by our artisan partners of the Kuna Community of Colombia creates an interesting juxtaposition where the human hand can be seen in small imperfections such as size variations and spatial positioning of the elements composing the designs.
Full of spirit, the color palette is built from tones of yellows, blues, aqua greens, tangerines and pinks that allude to pieces of Albers, Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Sonia Delaunay and Frank Stella. The play of color has been carefully selected to create a visual composition that elevates the geometries and bring out the different layers of the textiles. Accentuated by patent leather details on the sides and handle.
The result are statement accessories that will give any outfit its distinctive final and refined touch.
